What is Glow in Dark?

Glow-in-the-dark or phosphorescent inks contain optically active pigments that absorb light energy from any light source and then re-emit it as light, i.e. The region wherein the phosphorescent ink is applied. She will literally 'glow in the dark'.

Glow-in-the-dark is an on-screen process, and the standard color is yellow/green. But blue/green is also available. This process has been creatively used in many projects and applied to stickers, magazine covers, posters, and multimedia packaging. Used for glow-in-the-dark Halloween theme artworks, prints for kids, musical posters for dark spaces, or futuristic designs.

How does glow-in-the-dark printing work?

When glow-in-the-dark printing is exposed to fluorescent light, the ultraviolet light energizes the phosphor particles. This causes them to emit visible light or "glow".

Glow-in-the-dark printing is a two-part process. First, a layer of ink is screen printed to create a nice bright base to apply the glitter ink. After the first layer dries, a special ink is applied that will create a glow-in-the-dark effect. You can apply glitter all over the base or use it in prominent areas on your design to create a custom look. Glow in the Dark is machine washable and should last the life of the shirt. Once your shirt is ready to glow, charge it under a fluorescent or black light. The longer you expose the image. It will be just as long and bright in the dark.

Printing Tips

• Glow in the dark should be printed on white to achieve the greatest glow effect.
• Paper: Glow-in-the-dark printing should only be done on coated paper.
• Plastic: Glow-in-the-dark printing can be achieved on a pre-lamination or post-lamination basis.

Glow-in-dark tips

• Dark shirts with a light print work best for a glow effect (think white ink on black shirts).
• The gloss effect will not be as vibrant on colored inks.
• We can glaze the entire design or just some parts.
• Our transparent glow ink cannot be seen in daylight but glows green in the dark.
• Use a fluorescent or black light to quickly charge the glow effect.
